What is Awana?

Awana is an international ministry that uses Scripture memorization, games, group activities and events to teach children the value of learning and applying God’s word to their lives.  Awana is an acronym meaning “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.” It is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. When does AWANA take place?

Our Awana programs takes place each Wednesday night in August–May. It starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m. Children are divided into the following age appropriate groups:

Cubbies:

Ages 3–5 (Pre-K)
Must be age 3 by Sept 1

Sparks:

Kindergarten–2nd Grade

Truth & Training:

3rd–5th Grade

What happens during Awana?

Game Time
Kids have fun and release energy while playing team games at our Family Life Center.

Handbook Time
Kids develop relationships while working together in small groups to memorize scripture.

Council Time
Kids gather in larger groups for age-appropriate lessons in Christian living.
