Women's Ministry
Women’s Enrichment Ministry of First Baptist Church
Jesus said, “I have come to do the will of the Father.” Our mission is never about a program, an event, or a resource. It is always about doing the will of the Father. Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life and that you might have it more abundantly.” Jesus had a vision for reaching people. The Women’s Enrichment Ministry has a vision for reaching women with the good news of Jesus Christ. It must be central to all we do, as an extension of and in cooperation with the total ministry of the First Baptist Church of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Women’s Enrichment Ministry of First Baptist Church seeks to:
- EQUIP women in our church to enrich their lives and of other women and their families through Christ. Answering God’s call to serve Him involves preparing ourselves for the tasks He puts before us.
- ENABLE a woman to discover her God-given gifts for ministry, search out the needs in our church and community and match those needs with her unique gifts for ministry. Ministry is not an option but our responsibility to serve Him.
- LEAD women to accept Christ as Lord, to become women of deep prayer, and to study the Bible and base their entire lives on the Word of God. Jesus has commanded that “we go and make disciples.”
We do this by:
- NURTURING women through God’s Word toward ongoing spiritual maturity in Christ. This includes studies of God’s Word, prayer, discipleship and mentoring.
- ENCOURAGING women to bring unchurched and non-Christian women to a personal relationship with Christ and His church, discipling them and equipping them to become disciplers. This includes Bible studies and social events for fellowship.
- PROMOTING ministries within the Women’s Enrichment Ministry to equip women to reach out and meet the unique needs of other women in the name of Christ.
- PROVIDING women with Bible-based spiritual growth and discipleship resources, leadership training, and a structure of networking that will strengthen, enrich and equip women with the good news of Jesus Christ.
- MAINTAINING a healthy balance between “being ministered to” (in-reach) and “ministering to” others (outreach).
Therefore, we will:
- SHARE the love of Jesus with women outside our First Baptist Church family through strategic evangelistic outreach.
- MINISTER to the spiritual needs of the women in our First Baptist Church family through Bible study, discipleship, prayer and mentoring.
- HELP women develop their God-given potential as persons of value in their homes, their church and their community.
- INVOLVE women in creative service under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
