Woman’s Missionary Union
Since its beginning in 1888, WMU has become the largest Protestant missions organization for women in the world, with a membership of approximately 1 million. WMU is an auxiliary to the Southern Baptist Convention, which means that it acts as a "helper" to the SBC. In the First Baptist Church Family, our WMU focuses on learning about missions, praying more effectively for our missionaries and giving to missions at home and around the world.
Through our WMU we help fulfill Jesus’ commission to go, make disciples, baptize and teach obedience to His commands (Matthew 28:19-20). WMU small groups meet at various times and locations throughout the month. WMU will open up a whole new world for you as you enjoy fellowship with ladies of all ages.
